SOLSTICE ARTS FESTIVAL TICKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Tickets are now available at the Rollin Art Centre, and Char’s Landing. $20 adults, $15 seniors and students (13-18), $50 family pass (2 adults and 2 students) and children 12 and under are free when accompanied with adult pass. The Solstice Arts Festival, June 17th-19th, brings four Alberni Valley arts groups together under one umbrella for an unforgettable weekend of artists, art exhibits, music, theatrical performances and street entertainment fun for the whole family.

The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley – “Days with the Arts” spearheaded the Festival, joined by Portal Players Dramatic Society, Alberni Art Rave Society and the Art Matters Society – F.A.C.E., in bringing this new community event to the Rotary Arts District.

Alberni/Art Rave welcomes artists working in all media, crayons to digital to 3D, to create a bright, eye-catching creation that celebrates Summer Solstice.

Along with bragging rights, the piece itself will be a featured part of the Art Rave Group Art Show which will be held at the Rollin Gallery on June 17th through June 30.

If possible please submit a 300 dpi jpg photo of your work to albernisolstice@gmall.com. Please ensure the word “Contest” is displayed in the subject line. Community Call Out to Artists of all Ages!
The Art Rave Society of Alberni invites community artists of all ages and stages to submit an original piece of art that best represents Solstice.
We welcome artists working in all media, crayons to digital to 3D, to create a bright, eye-catching image that celebrates the longest day of the year and the glorious beginning of summer in the Alberni Valley.
Along with bragging rights, the creator of the image chosen by our judges will receive a pass to all weekend events and shows featured during the Solstice Arts Festival- Alberni Valley, June 17th-19th, 2016.

Thanks to everyone that joined us for the social last night at Char’s. Thanks to those of you re-newing your memberships. Your support makes it all worthwhile. And a special thanks to the new members, people who have heard about Art Rave and want to join to support the arts in Port Alberni.
Some feedback from last night… people want to gather to make things. We’ve listened and we agree. So …

• Art Rave is meeting in March to discuss the next collaborative luminary project with Erin Ryding. This usually involves several gatherings and were a great hit last year.
• Art Rave will facilitate a puppet making workshop to assist the Art Matters Society with it’s performances. Details to be confirmed.
• Art Rave will facilitate a workshop making low relief panels to be used as the basis for a rubbings table, part of Art Raves “Art On The Street” contribution to the Solstice Arts Festival. Details to be confirmed.
  Will keep you updated.
