Everyone 19+ is welcome to attend Alberni Art Rave’s FREE evening of Music, Art & Theatre. This month Art Rave is excited to present a sample of skits from Gwynne Hunt’s upcoming local production of The Vagina Monologues.
And as always, Live Music, a Silent Auction & a collaborative art project for those who want to try their hand at some “no experience necessary” Art Play
Wow! Tonight’s Art Rave Social night at Char’s Landing.
Cheryl Iwanowsky from Bluefish Gallery offered a FREE Clay Play workshop.
Later in the evening, music trio performed with singer songwriters Barry Bruyere & Rob Armich with John Dryden (Trooper , Headpins, Toronto).
Winter Darby and a live Art Demo.
All FREE thanks to Char’s Landing, Cheryl and Art Rave volunteers.
Plans are firming up for Art Rave Festival 2015.
We are able to confirm that the Festival will take place at Harbour Quay, June 20 & 21. Plans are to have 5 tents housing art displays and art workshops for all ages.
Art Rave members will have the opportunity to book a spot to display and sell their art at the Quay site.
There will be a concert on Saturday night and we’re working on lots of family focus activities. As always, there is no charge to attend.
Our Group Art show will be held at the Capital Theatre. Available details are included in the Call to Artists, on facebook.
Art Rave is working hard to make this our best festival yet. We are a non-profit group staffed entirely by volunteers. We hope you will consider helping out. We’d love to hear from you.

Hi and Happy New Year!
As a non-profit society of volunteers, Alberni Art Rave welcomes your support and encourages you to renew your membership.
The $10 cost goes directly to our Festival, our Bursary program and to help support the Arts & Artists in our area.
The Art Rave Society of Alberni is gearing up for it’s 2015 season.
With a new board and some fresh ideas, we have some changes to announce.
This year’s Festival will be held on the June 19th weekend and at a new location.
Art Rave 2015 will be held at the picturesque Harbour Quay. The setting allows us the room to try some new things, one of which is making available display areas for local artists around the perimeter of Spirit Square. Eligibility is limited to Art Rave *members.
Some of you may be coming to our monthly Last Wednesday of the Month Socials at Char’s Landing.
As the Wednesday Painters are currently on hiatus, Charlene has offered wall space to Artists who are Art Rave *members.
Art Rave’s Last Wednesday of the Month’s Social is starting off 2015 with Clay Play!
Clay Play is a “just for fun” instruction in how to hand-build with clay. The Workshop is being facilitated by Cheryl Ivanowskey, well known potter and owner of Bluefish Gallery on 2nd Ave in Port Alberni. Cheryl has generously offered to donate the clay and will fire all students pieces at no charge. Pre-registration is required and eligibility is restricted to Art Rave members.

Enjoy a coffee, glass of wine or Char’s Drink Special while perusing the Silent Auction items. Please show the bartender your Art Rave membership card when ordering. Art Rave negotiates discounts for it’s members.

This month’s Alberni Art Rave’s Wednesday Social falls on December 31st, New Year’s Eve!
Everyone who attends tonight’s Art Rave New Year’s Social will receive a FREE ticket on a draw for a Sterling Silver Pig, created by Art Rave’s own, Tamas Zalatnai.
If you don’t know, Tamas is a world reknown jewellery designer who lives right here in Port Alberni.
Thank you Tamas for your generous contribution to tonight’s fun!
A little different occasion for our monthly socials, so we’re planning a low key “House Party” with an eclectic collection of house tunes, quiet corners to chat and a dance floor if the spirit moves you.
Char will greet you at the door with a glass of her complimentary bubbly (thank you, Char) and the bar will be serving all variety of libation, including coffee and herbal teas. A selection of complimentary appetizers will be served.
Dress up! Glam up! Or not… thrift store formal, blue jean starving artist garb, your fave comfy pants, it’s all good! At Art Rave it’s about hanging out and sharing the evening.
Art Rave’s December Social will include a live art demonstration & a collaborative Art Play art project. We also plan to once again offer a Silent Auction Fundraiser.

Art Rave on the move
We are please to announce that Char’s Landing on Argyle in the very heart of Port Alberni’s Arts District will be Art Rave’s new base of operations.
This venue makes possible for us to hold monthly Art Rave social evenings.
They will be held on the last Wednesday of every month from 7-10 PM. There are plans for live music, lively discussion, collaborative art making (no experience necessary), performance art, special events and much, much more.
And everyone is welcome!
Advance details of each event will be posted here, on our website & Shaw Cable, Channel 4.
Our first social will be held November 26th. In addition to the usual fun, that evening will include an Art Rave Silent Auction Fundraiser. It’s a great way support the local artistic community and do some Christmas shopping while listening to music and perhaps enjoying a Char’s drink special!
Alberni Art Rave is a non-profit society dedicated to promoting and supporting the local artistic community. We welcome your donation of Silent Auction merchandise.
